As friends and fellow community builders, Arlene, Anita, Arveda, and Shirley bring complementary strengths in organizational leadership, financial stewardship, education, arts programming, professional development, and trusted civic relationships. Their record of founding institutions, leading boards, creating youth-centered programs, and sustaining community partnerships gives TCEF the credibility, capability, and reach to expand scholarships and develop distinctive STEM Arts opportunities for the students and communities it serves.
Dr. Arlene Slade Barnett — President
A retired general dentist and seasoned UNCF fundraiser. Arlene delivers community, civic, and arts engagement through leadership and service to the Arlington Museum of Art, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Dallas/Fort Worth Urban League, Fort Worth African American Museum and Cultural Center, Fort Worth Forum, NAACP, Opal Lee-Juneteenth Unity Unlimited, The Links, Incorporated, and Multicultural Alliance
Anita C. Heiskell — Secretary
A certified etiquette and image consultant. Founder and owner of Prim, Poised and Proper, LLC, Director of the Miss Juneteenth DFW Pageant, Board Chair of the Jubilee Theater. Arlington Community Commissioner, writer, podcaster, and community organizer.
Arveda Lewis — Assistant Treasurer
Arveda, a certified accountant and founder of AKL Enterprise, has held various community affiliations, including serving as treasurer or on the finance committee of Chums Inc., The Moles, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America Mothers and Associates.
Shirley Roberts Pace — Treasurer
Founder of Saintsville Baptist Church, Saintsville Childcare Center, and the Saintsville Academy of Fine Arts. Past President of the Baptist Ministers’ Wives and Widows Union of Fort Worth, Western Area Chaplain of The Links, Incorporated, Shirley keeps us grounded in the high calling of our labors. Past Board affiliations: Women’s Haven, the YWCA, and Arts Fort Worth.
